One of the world’s biggest ropeways with a capacity of 166 passengers
Enjoy superb views on the seven-minute ride to the resort, which sits at an elevation of around 1,000m.
The view from the summit area includes the Uonuma Plain and Yuzawa City while the three great Echigo mountains, Mt. Iiji and the Tanigawa mountain range stand tall right before one’s eyes.
In the green season, you can take an indulgent break at the outstanding café offering magical views or on a terrace surrounded by beautiful sunlight filtering through the trees.
The whole family can also stroll through more than 200 types of plants blooming in Alp no Sato, Japan’s largest rock garden of alpine plants, and have fun on the bobsleds in summer.
Winter provides the opportunity for skiing and snowboarding and to use the ropeway for sightseeing of the snowy landscape on crisp, clear winter days.
There are a number of onsen (hot spring) accommodation facilities nearby due to the resort’s proximity to the onsen area around Echigo Yuzawa Station.

Kumo no Ue no Café
Kumo no Ue no Café sits inside Panorama Station at the top of the mountain, where visitors can soak in the incredible panoramic views from a wooden deck.
Kokia flower field
The kokia flower field is open from mid-June to November and is a great photo spot in autumn thanks to the beautiful red leaves.
Yuzawa Kogen in winter
The snow-covered resort in winter offers a variety of courses suitable for the beginner to the expert at an altitude of 1,000m.
The Nunoba Area has spacious gentle slopes that are perfect for beginners and families on lovely sunny days.
Yuzawa Kogen is linked to GALA Yuzawa by ropeway and Ishiuchi Maruyama by chairlift (charged separately).
Snow Land offers the chance for sledding and snow tubing so that visitors can make the most of their time in addition to skiing.
